Rajkumar Hirani directs this 2009 Hindi-language comedy-drama, which he also wrote and edited, co-writing the screenplay with Abhijat Joshi. Told across two timelines, present and ten years earlier, it follows the friendship of three engineering students, including the unconventional Rancho, played by Aamir Khan, whose schemes upend campus life and the rule of the strict dean known as Virus, played by Boman Irani. R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi play Rancho's friends, loosely adapted from Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone.
